PROJECT OVERVIEW

Video installation, sound We Have Been Dead to the World That Is Alive is a confrontation with human responsibility for the climate crisis. Across found, manipulated, and original footage, the work assembles a nonlinear archive of "isolated" events. Extraction, deforestation, resource depletion, erosion, nuclear violence — and condenses time to argue that nothing is isolated. We are made of each other, human and more-than-human. Selected text from Terry Tempest Williams's A Burning Testament and Kaitlin Bryson and the Submergence Collective's Instructions for Compost run as undercurrents - calling out the faults of our species and naming our accountability to the living world.
